Illness:
A by-product of Alexander lessons is an improvement in breathing, digestion and blood circulation, and therefore general vitality. This is because posture and movement is associated with these vital processes. This improvement contributes to a sound basis for good general health, and it helps us to recover more quickly when illness strikes.
It can be demonstrated that many people do not use their full potential for breathing. Their general vitality is therefore lower and their susceptibility to passing illnesses higher.
Work-related injury:
Alexander Technique offers a new dimension to these problems by looking at the habitual way people use their bodies at work, and showing them a methodical way that they themselves can work out how to improve, both in solving problems and preventing them happening in the first place.
